Since it's almost Emmi's birthday (!!), I thought I'd post a couple silly things she has said lately...because I just don't want to forget.
To set this first one up, you must know that from a very young age Emmi has been very concerned with litter and gung-ho about recycling. You could say she's very green :)
One of the first nice days we had here in MN a couple weeks ago, Emmi and Graycen were riding in the back seat of the van and asked if they could have their windows open. Before granting their request, I explained that nothing may exit the windows (like shoes, toys, trash, spit...etc.) or they would be promptly closed.
Emmi responded with tears in her eyes saying, "Mommy, I would NEVER do that! You know I love the earth!"
---------------------------------------------------------
When picking Emmi up from school, after asking for her snack (of course!), she immediately starts spilling out everything she learned/discussed/observed during her morning at school. She is extremely detailed although her details are often a little mixed up from what really took place or she just plain doesn't understand what was said...It's a lot to take in and remember for a little girl!! Perfect example:
Tomorrow the school is hosting a fundraiser at a local fast food restaurant where they donate 10% of all sales to the charity Feed My Starving Children. Well her teacher explained this to the class today and then sent home the flyer. So, Emmi entered the van and when I asked her how her day was she says, "Mommy this is VERY important!! Tomorrow we need to go to Eden Prairie and buy a treat. Then get on a plane to go somewhere far away and give the treat to some kids because they're hungry!!"
Huh!? Not looking at the flyer and having no clue what she just said, I asked her who told her that and she said her teacher. After getting home and reading the flyer I had to explain to her that we will not be boarding a plane to a far away country and personally feeding starving children (although that would be a great experience!). She still doesn't quite understand and I have a feeling she will be quite disappointed to find out tomorrow that there is no plane at Culver's.
