October

The result of the kid's pumpkin carving....or I should say their drawing and Tim's carving. What we've always done is given them a permanent marker (supervised of course) and then let them draw a face or whatever they want on the pumpkin and then Daddy carves it out for them. B's pumkin is the one on the very top, then Emmi's the next one down then Graycen's is on the floor. I wish I would have gotten a picture of them lit up...Graycen's was super scary looking!!

At Cub Foods they had a kid's thing were they gave you a gift bag with a little pumpkin, chocolate milk and some other little things I can't recall. Then you got to decorate some cupcakes!

Halloween night, just before we headed out to go trick-or-treating.

Graycen was a bit grumpy and ready for bed. But once he got outside he was fine, of course.

Every year we go to a place that has pumpkins that you can buy, which we don't buy there anymore because they are outrageously expensive! Anyway, they have some baby animals you can feed, a hay bale maze for kids, some sort of blow up air jumpy thing for the kids, popcorn, root beer, apples...the kid's enjoy it and it's only a few minutes from our house. Last year it was very warm and we were all in tank tops and shorts...this year it was a bit chilly and we were in jackets and long pants...I was still freezing. But it was fun!

Tim and our neighbor built a very large platform in the garage we share to store some stuff. Underneath it he hung some hooks to hook swings on...the kids love it and it's very convenient to run down to the garage and swing. It's great on rainy days or when it started to get too cold out to actually play outside, we just kept the garage door shut and still got some energy out!

We were in desperate need of some new chairs for our dining table. There were 2 chairs that were very questionable in how much weight they could hold and everytime we would sit on them we braced ourselves just in case we were going down. Thankfully before that ever happened, Tim found a set of 4 chairs for $6.00 at our favorite thrift store! Yes, that's $6.00 total for all of them, not each! They were in great shape but in need of some serious reupholstering. Below are the before and after shots. Timmy did all the work while I supervised :) He did such a great job!

One of the crazy talents the Schmidt kids have :)

Tim also had a birthday this month, but I can't find any pics to prove it. Bummer.

Well, that's 3 months down and 3 to go.
