The Schmidty family is very musical...we LOVE music. And our kiddos are no exception. Sometimes during the day we have a time of worshipping God in song and we often incorporate a "band" where the kids and yes, myself play an "air instrument" and sing a song whether made up by us or not. On this particular day B asked to do a solo. He was playing the air-guitar and sang with his eyes closed, "God, is a beautiful guy. Ya, God you are a beautiful guy!" Over and over and...over. I'm sure God had a little giggle...I did.

On another musical note (no pun intended). A couple days ago B and Emmi wanted to spend some of their birthday money. They both decided they wanted to purchase umbrellas. So, off we went to Target where I had previously seen some cute kiddy umbrellas. Well, they were all sold out. Bummer. So instead of settling for expensive, plain "adult" umbrellas, we made a run to Walmart. With the help of Daddy and an employee, B and Emmi found and picked out Dora and Spiderman umbrellas. Not my first choice, but hey, it's not my birthday money. They were very excited about them and in the middle of the aisle broke out into the song "Singin' in the Rain" from the musical (which we have watched many times at our house) with umbrellas opened and spinning and dancing around. We got many strange looks. I'm not sure if they were looking at us strange because of their dancing or the fact that they knew pretty much every word to the song!
